TIMELINE
1908
Antonio LaSpada immigrated from Sicily to Chester PA.
1938
Antonio opened his 1st shop in Atlantic City NJ. Where he began serving "The best
damn sandwiches in town!" He also opened shops in various Delaware locatations.
1959
His
son John opened a shop in Parkside PA. Which is currently the longest standing shop.
1976
John
brought in his son Raymond as a partner. They worked together for a year until John decided he wanted to retire. Raymond then
brought in as his partner, his cousin Charles R. LaSpada Jr, who had worked in the shop for over 10 years. The 2 cousins were
together for 6 years.
1982
Raymond decided he wanted to persue a career in the Horse
feed business and sold his part of the business to his partner Charles R. LaSpada Jr. Later that year Charles took
on a new partner, Bill Fromholzer.(a long time customer & friend)
1984
Together
Charlie and Bill purchased a famous hot dog stand in Ridley Twp. called "Chewy's" and added their already famous
cheese steaks and hoagies to the menu.
1989
Charlie and Bill, now with 2 locations
decided to call it quits. The Original store in Parkside was sold to former employee, Joe Crowley. The 2nd store in Ridley
was kept by Charlie to run on his own.
1991
Charlie needed help with the growing business
in Ridley Twp. and turned to longtime employee (13yrs) Thomas Morrison, who became his new partner.
2001
Charlie decided he wanted to retire and sold his share of the business to his partner of 10 years
Thomas Morrison and his wife, Debbie.
2001-Present
Owners Tom & Debbie Morrison
are still keeping up the tradition, started in the 1930's of serving "THE BEST DAMN SANDWICHES IN TOWN"
